Coalition for the Deserving has launched
first photo is from Arpee Lazaro using his Sony Ericsson W760
Held at the Manila Hotel,Centennial Hall 11 am
Coalition for the Deserving has launched:
Aksyon Demokratiko,
Bigkis Pinoy,
Kilusang Bagong Lipunan,
Reporma
These are group of political parties who have gotten together and formed the coalition for the deserving.I find that there are a lot of grandstanding.
Never before in our checkered history as anew democracy in Asia have our political parties seriously considered fielding candidates who are truly deserving of the National Leadership Positions they seek. For the most part they were chosen simply on the on the basis of their entertainment skills that included singing, dancing and name acting ,glib talk and good looks.Qualifications for elective leadership was based mainly on "winability"-that is popularity and name recall, where experience ,character and ability for the job were completely irrelevant.
These gave our people in the past no choice but to elect even the most incompetent for as long as he or she was the most popular.

Illegal ang kanilang pagde-detain sa mga bata?
'Alabang Boys' camp to file habeas corpus before CA
In an interview on dzBB radio on Monday, lawyer Felisberto Verano Jr who represents the families of the three suspects said they will file a petition for a writ of habeas corpus, asking the appellate court to order the three men’s release and to declare their detention illegal.
“Ang isasampa namin ay habeas corpus which means they will have to justify the detention of the boys. Kapag hindi nila ma-eexplain ay sila mismo ay mabibilanggo (We will file a petition for a writ of habeas corpus which means they will have to justify the detention of the boys. If they cannot do so, they themselves will be put in jail)," Verano said.
The lawyer, however, did not indicate when they will file the petition.
Verano’s camp also filed before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) their affidavit and arbitrary detention charges against PDEA, along with two other charges and a possible libel charge.
They illegally detained the boys)," Verano said without elaborating.
On Sept. 20, Brodett and Joseph were arrested in PDEA’s buy-bust operations in Ayala Alabang in Muntinlupa City. Tecson was arrested during follow-up operations four hours later in Cubao, Quezon City.
The three were held for supposedly peddling high-end drugs, like ecstacy, cocaine, and marijuana.
But a separate radio report quoted Verano as saying that the men’s arrest were also illegal, saying that there were no buy-bust operations and that the drugs were only recovered a few hours after their arrest.
Quoting Verano, the report also said that Brodett had been mauled by PDEA agents inside his detention cell. The report said the Brodett family presented before the NBI photos of Brodett’s bruises he sustained during his detention.
In the dzBB interview, Verano also denied the families of Brodett, Joseph, and Tecson pulled connections and attempted to pay off some P50 million for Justice Department (DOJ) prosecutors to recommend the dismissal of the drug-related case against the three men and to order their release from PDEA’s custody.
“Yung P50 million, alam mo napakalaking halagang iyan. Mayroon bang family na makakaproduce ng P50 million? Kahit yung mga ultra rich na families natin hindi eh (Fifty million is too high for any family to come up with such amount. Can any family produce it? Even ultra-rich families cannot)," Verano said.
Meanwhile, radio dzBB’s Carlo Mateo reported that the NBI special task force looking into the alleged bribe attempt started Monday and will be spearheaded by head agent Arnel Dalumpines.
In another dzBB interview, Dalumpines said the special panel will only look into the alleged bribe try and not on the merits of the drug case against Brodett, Joseph, and Tecson.
Dalumpines added that the task force will not also touch on the legality of PDEA’s arrest and detention of the three men.
“Sa amin kasi yung sa bribery lang na yan, yung merit ng kaso di na sa amin yan (We will only look into the purported bribe attempts and not into the merits of the drug case against the three men)," Dalumpines said. - Sophia Dedace, GMANews.TV

public nudity! is it illegal ?

In 1992 New York State’s highest court ruled that it was legal for a woman to go into public without covering her breasts. Many people have derided that decision — most calling it immoral — and by most moral standards they are probably right. In most places in the world, covering your body is considered as important, if not more important, than cleaning your body. So in New York, in spite of a law that allows it, the overwhelming majority of women do not bare their breasts in public. Why? Two reasons: The main reason is because women have been taught since childhood that exposing their breasts is embarrassing, sinful, immoral and, in general, “unladylike.” The second reason is that most citizens of New York — including police officers — have no idea that it is perfectly legal for a lady to bare her breasts in public.
Case in point: Two years ago, a 27-year old New Yorker, Jill Coccaro took a walk without covering her breasts. She was arrested, taken for a psychiatric exam, and thrown in jail for 12 hours. Finally, after someone in the District Attorney’s office realized what had happened, she was released and told no charges would be pressed. In turn, Jill sued the city and, just recently, received a $29,000 settlement.
Don’t try this outside of New York! Anywhere else in the country you will likely have to pay dearly for your ‘nature walk.’
The questions this issues raise are: Is someone being victimized by a pair of breasts? Is a lady endangering anyone’s life or destroying anyone’s property by shedding shirt and bra? These are, of course, rhetorical questions and the answer is: course not! So if no one or nothing is damaged by a pair of exposed breasts, why should it be illegal anywhere for a lady to walk around with her breasts exposed. Might this be frowned upon by those who object to the practice, yes! Might a topless lady be subjected to social castigation, certainly! A topless lady will certainly not be allowed in many places of business and that’s fine; but to be incarcerated and fined for exposing your breasts — that’s ludicrous.
Our legal system is supposed to protect us against people who want to, or in some cases unintentionally do, harm our persons or our property; the legal system should not be misused to enforce social taboos! There are many things I don’t like to see — and I’m sure there are many things you don’t like to see; some of these things may just upset you and some may deeply offend you — but should they all — or any of them — be made illegal?
In this case, we’re talking about the human body. Hey, everyone has one and they all basically look alike except for gender differences. If you don’t like to look at a naked or partially naked human body, YOU may be the one with the problem and if you teach your children that they should be ashamed of their body you’re passing that problem on to the next generation.
On your next vacation, I would suggest a week in a naturist facility or, as some call it, a nudist camp; by the end of the week you will have an entirely new perspective.
